Alentejo On The Rise: 55x Increase In Views YOY
How can a centuries-old Portuguese wine region win over the new generation? Find out below.
From the ground up
Alentejo has been making wine for over 2,000 years — but most millennial and Gen Z drinkers had never heard of it.
Our mission: turn Alentejo into a global name, known for naturally unique wines, crafted sustainably by multi-generational families of farmers and winemakers.
We refocused Alentejo’s Instagram and Facebook accounts from the ground up with clear targets: grow followings by 6%, raise engagement rates to 3% on Facebook and 5% on Instagram, and drive total reach and engagement up 25% year-on-year.
Crafting the Blend
Instead of chasing volume, we went all in on quality. We built three content series — sustainability, tourism and winemaking — designed to be scroll-stopping, shareable, and rooted in what actually makes Alentejo naturally unique: the people, the land, and the craftsmanship.
The Pour
Content from three series became some of highest-performing content the account has ever posted since it launched.
We posted less, but more strategically, and it worked harder. Across the year, content volume dropped by over 40% — while reach, engagement and following all surged.
Followers up 10.9% (target: 6%)
Engagement rate up from 2.34% to 4.06% (target: 3%)
Engagements up 11x from 2,192 to 26,097
Views up 56x from 351,774 to 19,858,290
Page visits up 186%, from 6,937 to 19,834
Followers up 9.1%, from 41,292 to 45,034 (target: 6%)
Engagement rate up to 7.84%, from 3.8% (target: 5%)
Engagements up from 1,317 to 14,602 — an 11x increase
Views up from 202,980 to 10,675,407 — up 53x YOY
Organic views up 541%, from 67,276 to 431,210
Average organic reach per post up 22.4%, from 2,668 to 3,266
Decanted
Every objective was hit — and comfortably beaten. Combined reach across both platforms grew from 554,754 to over 30.5 million, and combined engagements grew more than 1,000% year-on-year, smashing the 25% target several times over.
